Recently we had dinner with family, they bought their first home together so we celebrated! It’s such a huge deal, especially with how expensive home buying is. Anyway, we got into discussions about amazon and netflix and how Paul&I cancelled it months ago, we don’t even think about it. I don’t miss it, I don’r consider it when shopping, it just…went away.

What I do notice, is how defensive people get when it’s brought up. Im not judging or accusing anyone of anything, my life path and privilege has given us the opportunity to remove the excess spending. The mindless spending. I don’t need any material immediately. We canceled our memberships back in January and we don’t even talk about it. When it came up then , people were saying they couldn’t live without it, they bought something that morning.

I didn’t expect anyone to agree, or prove their need for it. We were just expressing that we have the luxury to free ourselves from it. I don’t want one website to have this ultimate control. The internet is a great idea, everything eventually gets taken advantage of because of greed, so we want to find ways to not support greed.

Including our own.

I wish people knew that I am never judging them for their choices, their way of life. People have awareness of the shortcomings or insecurities or flaws, I have mine. It is not my place to criticize you for using platforms to make your life easier. However, if you feel defensive, know that you do not have to defend yourself to me.
